About Exam

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the uniform nomenclature of seven security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are the Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).


The age limit for the candidates is 20 to 25 years.

The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

The candidate must be graduated in any discipline.

Exam pattern and syllabus

The exam pattern refers to the type of question, time limit, marking scheme etc which is set and followed by the exam official at the time of designing as well as the checking of the main examination.

There will be two papers namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Paper 1 will be of objective type and Paper 2 will be of a Descriptive type.

2 hours duration will be granted to solve paper 1.

3 hours duration will be provided to solve paper 2.

Paper 1 consists of 250 marks and paper 2 comprise of 200 marks.
